Electric Energy: LOVRA on Coachella, Creativity, and the Magic of Reinvention

It is rare to meet someone as sincere and genuine as LOVRA. With a relentless work ethic and creativity that knows no bounds, she stands out in a crowded scene. From the moment we connected, it was clear—LOVRA isn’t just talented, she’s deeply intentional in everything she does.

Watching her rise has been both inspiring and inevitable. LOVRA is more than a DJ—she’s a force. With a presence as magnetic as her sets, the Berlin-based producer and performer is fast becoming one of the most exciting names in global dance music. Her recent Coachella debut—where she headlined the iconic Heineken House—marked a defining moment in her career. It didn’t just showcase her sound, but the evolution of a woman who’s been building her own wave for years. “I studied communication design and art,” she shares, “and during that time, I ran a music channel on YouTube that reached over 2.5 million subscribers. I realized I had a really good sense for music and rhythm. Eventually, I sold the channel and invested everything into my own project. That’s how LOVRA was born.”

It was a bold move that paid off. And like many great artists, LOVRA found her sound in a city known for shaping sonic icons: Berlin. “This city breathes creativity,” she says. “It’s wild, raw, full of color—just like me. Berlin is endlessly inspiring, always in motion, always honest. I soak up every second. It gives me energy, stories, and most of all—music.” Drawing from the rich textures of ‘90s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop, LOVRA merges those influences with modern house to create something uniquely her own. “It’s something I feel 110%. That whole musical era left a deep mark on me. It’s a part of who I am.”

Today, her sound is rooted in tech house and house—spaces where she says she feels grounded and free. “As an artist, you are never static. You grow, shift, and respond to the energy around you. That evolution is what keeps the journey alive. It’s not just about sound—it’s about becoming.” When it comes to producing, LOVRA’s process begins with emotion. “I start with a feeling—usually a bassline that hits something inside me. From there, I follow the flow and let the emotion shape the sound.” Her instinctive connection to energy also drives her live sets. “I prepare for big stages, but I always read the crowd and adapt in real-time. It’s not about playing a plan—it’s about playing the moment.”

And she’s played some serious moments—Tomorrowland, Nature One, Melt!, and now, Coachella—or should we say, LOVchella? “Coachella was one of the most impressive experiences ever,” she beams. “The vibe was magical. I still have to pinch myself—I played three sets in total! One was spontaneous because another DJ couldn’t make it, so I jumped in. It was intense, beautiful, and unforgettable.” Her residency with David Guetta in Ibiza was another pivotal chapter. “It pushed me beyond my own limits, made me more confident, and inspired me to take more creative risks. I look back on it with so much love—it still fuels me today.”

Having released tracks on labels like Solotoko, Repopulate Mars, and Sweat It Out, she says the right label usually reveals itself. “Once a track is done, we send it out to A&Rs and hope it finds the right home.” She names “Love Sensation” as a personal favorite—a viral breakout that helped launch her career. “Even though it doesn’t align with my current style, it will always be special. It marked the beginning of everything.” As for what’s next? A dream collaboration is already on the way—though she’s keeping it under wraps for now. And when asked what luxury means to her, LOVRA answers without hesitation: “It’s living the life I’m living right now—feeling good, being healthy, cuddling my cat, doing what I love. Luxury is waking up every day grateful that I get to see the world through my music.” With passion like that, it’s no wonder she’s rising fast—and staying true to everything that makes her LOVRA.
