AMIN MOAZZEN IS A MASTER AT BRINGING HIS BUILDING DESIGN CONCEPTS TO LIFE. HIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL, COMPOSITION & ABILITY TO BRING HIS OUT OF THE BOX IDEAS TO REALITY HAVE GARNERED HIS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION, 400+ CLIENTS AND A HEFTY PRICE TAG
Hailing from Hamedan, the ancient capital of the Mad Kingdom in Iran, AM’s journey into the world of architecture is anything but conventional. Initially carving a path in the world of professional gaming from the age of 15 to 18, AM’s early years were defined by a different kind of strategic thinking and creativity. However, a shift in interests led him to pursue architectural studies at a small university in 2010.
By 2011, AM began experimenting with 3ds Max, diving into the world of digital design and small-scale projects. This initial foray into architecture marked the beginning of a profound transformation. It wasn’t until 2018, however, that AM decided to fully commit to architecture, channeling his skills and passion into creating innovative and impactful designs. His unique blend of gaming strategies and architectural expertise has since set him on a remarkable path, redefining the boundaries of modern architecture.
Q. What was your first commissioned design/ piece of work?
AM. It was in 2012, I designed the interior of a 5 storey apartment in Hamedan .
Q. Why did he become a designer / architect:
AM. I’m not gonna lie, At first, it was all about the money! But in 2018 I started to fall in love with Art and Architecture 🙂 I was a lazy boy and it was hard for me to get serious at this job. So I created my own easy rothin to do good and design as a International Pro!
AM’s approach to design is marked by a duality that reflects his unique creative process. For commissioned work, which is tailored to meet market demands, AM begins by considering the needs of the client. “I start to create the spaces and then I think what is the best for the client and then what is best for me in it!” This methodical process, typically spanning between 5 and 30 days, involves crafting designs that satisfy both the client’s vision and his own artistic sensibilities.
In contrast, AM’s personal designs emerge from a more instinctive and spontaneous process. “It is totally unconscious work for me. This kind of art clicks for me in the head, like an inspiration,” he explains. These designs often start with a burst of inspiration, which AM then develops and refines using software. This approach allows for boundless creativity, unrestrained by external constraints, and transforms abstract visions into tangible architectural forms. This balance between client-focused projects and personal artistic exploration defines AM’s distinctive and dynamic design philosophy.
Q.How long did it take to design the House of Light?
AM. It was a 1 month process. I had the idea in my head about 1 month before that. So I started to get inspired about lake cabins and how they work. Then I know how I can create something Unique!
AM reveals that the costs of architectural projects can vary significantly, often driven by the choice of materials and construction practices. According to AM, “There is no limit in the expenses of an Architecture piece.” In Iran, where the majority of builders opt for basic, functional designs, creating an aesthetic space can be a costly endeavor. For high-end projects, a typical dream design might range between $500,000 and $1 million, while more expansive, grand-scale projects can escalate to between $5 million and $10 million.
Over the past decade, AM has collaborated with over 400 clients, primarily in Iran. Although he cannot disclose specific names, his extensive experience underscores a robust portfolio within his local market. This impressive track record highlights AM’s expertise and versatility in handling a wide range of architectural projects, from modest residential designs to ambitious, high-budget creations.
